Rev. Dr. Mila Cooper

Rev. Dr. Mila P. Cooper, an ordained Itinerant Elder in the A.M.E. Church, serves as the Associate Pastor of Wayman A.M.E Church in Dayton, Ohio, where her husband the Rev. Gerald A. Cooper is the Senior Pastor. An experienced educational administrator, she’s the Executive Director of Career Education & Community Engagement at Earlham College. Committed to community outreach, advocacy, and social justice, she approaches her work through the intersection of faith and justice.

 

She is the Founder and C.E.O. of 4 The Kingdom Ministries, a ministry dedicated to demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ in tangible ways.  

 

Dr. Mila earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies and the Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a graduate certificate in Non-Profit Management from the Cleveland State Levin College of Urban Affairs, the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Payne Theological Seminary. Dr. Mila is also a certified Level III Trainer in Kingian nonviolence conflict resolution.

 

She teaches and preaches locally and throughout the country and has led numerous service trips throughout the United States and three international service trips to southern Africa. Dr. Mila has served on several boards and is a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. 

 

She and Pastor Gerald are the grateful parents of two daughters, Nia Patrice & Mariah Nicole, and the adoring grandparents of Grace Patrice.

 

Dr. Mila describes herself as a favored daughter of the Most High God and gives God all the credit and glory for the many blessings in her life. She often meditates on Psalm 27:13-14: “I would have fainted, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait, I say, on the Lord.”
