Rev. LaVeeshia Pryor

Vee Pic.JPG

The Reverend LaVeeshia Pryor was born in Miami, Florida, to Cleamond and Ethel Walker. Raised in a home where God was first, she gave her life to Jesus Christ at an early age. She would live out her Christian faith at Saint James AME Church where she participated in various ministries including the YPD, WMS, and Choir.

Reverend Pryor accepted her call to preach in 2001. She was ordained in 2006 by Bishop McKinley Young as an itinerate deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Reverend Pryor was later ordained as an itinerate elder in 2011 by Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie.

Reverend Pryor received her first pastoral assignment in 2009 and served the congregation of Saint James AME Church in Ashland, Kentucky. In 2014 she would receive a simultaneous pastoral assignment to Saint James in Ashland and Saint John AME in Greenup, Kentucky. In January 2015, the will of God would have Reverend Pryor (affectionately known as Pastor Vee) receive a pastoral assignment to Saint Paul AME Church in Richmond, Kentucky. Pastor Vee was recently appointed to serve the faith community of Saint John in Frankfort and is also a Program Manager in the public school system.

She currently serves as the Dean of Ministerial Training of the Kentucky Conference, Coordinator of Women in Ministry, Chair of the Budget Committee, and Conference Choir Director. She is a graduate of Barry University with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Administration and a Master of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary.

She is a servant-leader who embraces Kingdom principles and is fully convinced that only what we do for Christ will last. She is saved, sanctified, and has been set aside to do the will of God. Philippians 4:13 is her favorite Scripture which says: “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”  She is the eldest of five sisters, a devoted wife to Brother Kevin Pryor, and a mother.
